It’s hard to be four.
Four is “you’re too big for that” and “because you’re not big enough yet”.
Four is big questions, like “what if I can’t feel God in my heart?”
Four is a first understanding of death.
Four is “no, you can’t lock your sister up even if she says it’s okay”.
Four is not fitting on mom’s lap.
Four is being able to wait while others are taken care of first.
Four is nightmares and worries.
Four is less swats and more conversations.
Four is articulate and emotional.
Four is ganging up on friends, and being ganged up on.
Four is brave and invincible.
Four is needing to prove your strength against Daddy daily.
Four is goofy and loud, full of energy.
Four is needing to be praised and touched constantly.
Four is beautiful, growing, learning… temporary.
